Jules.
I know that a few folks got one of these not so long ago, & I'm quite tempted to ask my parents to buy us one for Christmas for our king sized bed. Are some makes of them better than others, as I've seen one for £45 in a local "cheap" shop? Also, do sheets fit over the topper & the normal bed mattress together, or will I have to have a sheet on the mattress, & another on the topper a la Ikea? ! abwsco
Jules, are you near Warrington as if so it's worth a visit to the QVC outlet. We got a brand new unopened one for £30 instead of £130. It's heavenly. Normal sheets won't fit over that and the mattress though so we have the extra deep sheets that do. Oh, and you still have the 30 day money back guarantee on anything bought there. Guest
I was advised that the topper should be 7 centimetres thick, otherwise it is not much help. I invested in 'deep' fitted sheets which go over the topper and the mattress. I got mine from http://www.summittoppers.co.uk. I liked the honesty and openness of the company and I LOVE our mattress topper. We mistakenly bought a firm mattress which was actually far too hard to accommodate my curves, but with the mattress topper we have support and comfort. Wonderful! Lesley
We bought ours from John Lewis, it's brilliant. Same reasons as Ginette for needing one We could do with some deeper sheets now though.
Becka
I also bought a new bed and couldn't sleep on it because it was too hard. I bought a topper from Dunlem Mill and it has transformed the bed from being a wholly awful experience to one of complete joy! My fitted sheet fits but only just and is prone to popping off in the middle of the night. I have three children who sometimes put in an appearance during the night and so I have a waterproof sheet on top of the topper because I don't think it would be very easily washed if it were to get wet! Chickvic
We bought a memory foam mattress (10 cm memory foam and 10 cm reflex) from http://www.memory-mattress.co.uk for our super king bed. It was £450 and it was worth every penny! We also had 2 free memory foam pillows and they are brilliant too, instead of having 2 pillows each we both just have this. We did a lot of research (and asked on this forum too!) and they had the best deals by far and the service was fantastic.
