STILL struggling with crop problem ** UPDATE - better! **

Recommended Posts

I'll keep my fingers crossed. Angel only had a tiny incision, and when I went to collect her the nurses thought she was great, she was really lively and chatty and had been charming them, she recovered much better than my dogs and cats have after an op. When she was convalescing we gave her grapes and she went mad for them, she was really perky.

Best of luck to your chook. And well done for giving her a chance (people will ask how much it cost then tease you, they did me anyway  ) We know they are worth it :-)

It was as if she knew she had a date with the vet - the following morning her crop was MUCH reduced, and completely empty on Saturday morning!! Thank goodness, that saved a hefty bill! Tipsy is still very thin and not the healthiest, but she's perky, chatty and pleased with herself. Two weeks off the grass has done the trick  and soon she'll have a new aviary to romp around in so she's less jealous when the Big Bird is on the lawn (all on her own).

Time they had a few new friend I think!!

That's great news :-)

We couldn't stop my dog's foot bleeding ones, he has caught his nail on something, after 5 or 10 minutes I rang the vet for an emergency appointment, of course by the time we had got there there was nothing for the vet to do as it had stopped bleeding, lol.

Hope your chookie continues to do well, once she's put some weight on she'll be right as rain.

My chicken vet told me to buy cheap electronic scales and weigh them all weekly, he said it was the best thing any small chicken keeper could do for their birds to monitor weight, detect losses, monitor gains etc. Would it be worth weighing yours? (I must admit I don't do mine very often despite what he said  )
