O2 Arena

Recommended Posts

Glad you had a great time Olly :D

My OH took my YS, nephew and brother to O2 on Monday to watch WWE wrestling (unfortunately since booking the tickets both the boys have gone off wrestling :? ).

They had seats 'up in the gods' and it took my OH 15 minutes to coax our son into the seat. Apparently he was even crying at one stage as it scared him so much.

I thought I was going to have to drive there and pick him up. They all enjoyed it in the end though :D

Hi Olly, yes I was there and agree it was fabulous! It was good we didn't arrange to meet up because it took us 3 hours to drive there  and then we got lost trying to find the arena  we got into our seats about 5 seconds before Mr. Cohen walked onto the stage.

Thankyou to the person that told me about the cheap car park, £6 instead of the extortionate £20 for the O2 arena, how can they justify that? He sang for over 3 hours and there were huge screens so we could see him close up, I was so sorry when it was over :(

Best evening I have had for ages, I can die happy now I've seen him live :)

The O2 is a fantastic arena - I didn't look down while I was climbing up to the seat, but once I was sitting down it was fine and the acoustics are excellent. Better still, the journey home only took about 45 minutes which was brilliant (compared to going to Hammersmith or Wembley for example). I'm going back to the O2 in June to see War of the Worlds!

You are so lucky! i would love to go and see War of the Worlds! My sister danced to it last year in our dance school's annual show and i have wanted to see it properly ever since! :D:roll:

Tessa, just reviving this post - I went to the O2 last night and Leonard Cohen was FABULOUS! Did you enjoy it - sorry we didn't arrange to meet up, but I was already meeting two other friends there and it's a huge place, isn't it. I thought he was brilliant and he did so many songs, what a trouper. I can't remember enjoying a concert so much in ages.

For those who think that LC only sings depressing songs, well he was surprisingly jolly, positively skipping about the stage and his voice is as good as ever. He had a Spanish guitarist, afraid I didn't catch the name, but it would have been worth the ticket money just to see him alone. Oh and the backing singers were pretty darn good, too!

I LOVE THE O2. We go fairly often - and can get from our seats in the concert hall, back to our home within 30 minutes, which makes it an easy evening out.

As others have said, the official car parks cost £20, but we always park in the commuter car park, which is right next to the O2. If you are going to an evening concert the commuters will be emptying out, so parking will not be a problem - I think it costs about £6 - ish.
