My Mum's been in a flap over what to buy my Dad for Christmas & I suggested a web cam for his nest box. She knows that they can be quite pricey but is so relieved to at least have an idea for his pressie that she's prepared to splash out a bit.

 

I just wondered if anyone else has bought or could recommend one. Ideally, she'd like one which streams colour images.

 

I'd love one too for the cube... hope OH is peeking over my shoulder... hint hint...

They are wonderful.

I bought DH one with a nest box and we had three families of sparrows in it.

I cleaned and disinfected it after the nesting season and we have a sparrow that now roosts in it every night.

This year I have bought another nest box with camera( with a Blue Tit hole) and a stand-alone camera we intend to put over the swallows' nest.

I got all these from HandyKam

 

I did put the camera in the hen coop for a laugh but it's quite boring looking at sleeping chickens.

 

Now I'm looking for some software that will let me have split screen images on the tele.

A TV is not a computer, you can't put sofware on it. But there is some device that attaches to the TV and shows both. Ask at maplin.
