chickengeorge6
Hello everybody, we have had 3 and 3 since the 15th July, we named them all after chicken dishes, eg Tikka, Bhuna, Balti, etc, except one we called dodger because from the first day all the others chased and tried to bully her but they could never catch her because she kept dodging out of the way. The only thing is although all the others have been laying since the fourth or fifth week poor old dodger has still not laid one, as we have had them over four months and they are roughly three to four months old when they are delivered we are slightly concerned !!! any ideas? Redwing
Blimey! that seems an awful long time to me however maybe Dodger is just a slow starter especially now the colder weather has arrived? Someone will have better advice than me but I would say that if she is ok and seems happy it will happen eventually. For now you will have to enjoy her as a pet even if she is a freeloader! Seagazer
Try not to worry - one of mine took 5 months to lay. I really thought she would never ever lay but she got there in the end.
Egluntyne
Maybe if you cut out all treats and limit free ranging she will get cracking. Not the ideal time of year though, with the daylight hours being so scarce. Have you done all the routine checks for lice, mites and worms?
