Daisy passed a very soft folded up eggshell then about an hour later a whole yolk She then trashed her box and had a feed . I put her back in the eglu for the night with her pals. She seems back to normal today and has a carrier bag crop. tonight......I hope it was a one off. Love Sue.

Glad to hear she's passed that. Working on a softie makes them look so ill . I hope she bounces back to her usual self tomorrow.

have you any idea as to why this happened? Anything I can do to prevent reoccurence? Love Sue xxx

It could just be a one off, or they could be a bit short of vit D or calcium. you could try putting some zolcal D in their water. It has both in and it sorted my girls out after they layed a few softies.

Thanks Mostin, I googled ailments and wooried myself sick. i was convinced it was egg peritinitous....... She freeranges everyday and we are getting alittle sunshine now. I put citricidal in their water.... She appears fine today and even had a little go at Jimina over the treats.... Love Sue xxx
