Do I have to buy those mossy rings to start with or is there a cheaper way? I have a maker tool thing, like a giant board with a clamp / stapler for making wreaths, never used it though. ubereglu Posted November 23, 2008 Share Posted November 23, 2008 I make wreaths using a base of something-usually quite flexible branches of material-it depends what you have lying around really. Then I make it stronger by twisting more and more bits around the first hoop and then I slot other things in. If you're using holly as a base you could make a big loop to start with and then tie the two ends together and then create another loop and tie it together to the other one. Then you can wrap lots of ivy around it and slot other materials through the two pieces of holly. That's just the way I do it though, there are lots of other ways too though.
