Good news - Åsa's leg is better!

Recommended Posts

I don't know if you remember, but my little Sussex/Leghorn cross broke her leg just under four weeks ago and I took her to the vet - she initially had a splint made up with a Bic biro pen in there, and later had some wooden glue sticks in as support. There were photos/details in this posting

http://club.omlet.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=34452 - sorry if I haven't continued in this thread but whenever I try to update it and change the title to suggest good news, the title just stayed the same, not sure what I'm doing wrong!

Anyway, I took her to the vet this morning and she has been given a clean bill of health. They took her splint/dressing off, and put her on the floor and she just stood there, rather confused...then Rachel, the veterinary nurse tempted her with some cheesey filled cat biscuits to try to get her to move (but she was more intent with a white mark on the lino floor  ) - eventually I tapped her bottom and she walked around the place, and was even kind enough to deposit a little offering on the floor  The vet decided that her leg was healed well enough to take all the supports away, so we now have her home and she's doing really well....she stands on one leg a lot but she can walk around on it ok. I think it's bound to be a bit tender and feel a bit strange for a time. We are keeping her and her two pals in the Eglu and run for a few days so she gets used to it (they are not amused at all and want to come out, particularly as Tiina is now crouching and getting close to laying)

Anyway, that's the latest Åsa news!
