Newbie woyying about poo!

Recommended Posts

Hi,

You may remember I posted last weekend over a the sad demise of Zoe two days after laying her very first egg, which was a softee. We then visited Cotswold Chickens and came home with New Zoe and Helena Bonham-Chicken to keep Chloe company.

Anyway, after a bad start to my chicken keeping I'm now being a very overprotective owner!!

New Zoe provided us with a prefect egg withou about an hour of getting home last Sunday and we've had 3 more from her during the course of the week, although nothing for the last couple of days. Helena Bonham-Chicken laid an egg on Tuesday, but nothing since. This morning there was a small mountain of poo in the nesting box - first time this has happened. It looked like fairly normal brown poo, but there was a lot of yellowy runny stuff around it. I'm reasonable confident it belongs to H B-C, who seems fine in herself. As I type she's pottering around the garden with the other two girls.

Do I need to worry, or is this just part of the whole settling into a routine thig?

Thanks in advance for any advice.
