Guest
how to make little gift boxes from last years Christmas cards, they're very cute and if you made them slightly larger, you could put your home made chocolate truffles in them (that's for those of us who are making them) **edit** to avoid having creases on the face of the box, find the centre of the square with a rule on the reverse side and draw a dot, then fold the corners in to the dot. http://www.metacafe.com/watch/322607/how_to_make_an_origami_gift_box/
A chickychickychick-ENN!!
Oh that's both fun and a lovely end result! Super idea!
Sunshine
Thank you for posting this. I tried to follow making a box very similar but in a book and got very confused, the video makes it so much easier to understand. I am definately going to make some for little gifts at Christmas. Chook n Boo Mum
How sweet, I learned how to make boxes in a very similar way, but rather than folding the corners in (as per the video) I used to cut along the lines, fold the flaps in then fold the side over like the man does - imagine 20 cubs with scissors "is this where I cut Kaa (my Cub name)?" Nightmare..... Sha xx
A chickychickychick-ENN!!
Nowhere near as good as the chicken, box or wreath, but maybe easy enough for tiny people: http://www.wikihow.com/Make-an-Origami-Christmas-Tree
stoice
I thought these were cute. Easy to make and stick on pressies or fill up hampers as packing material. Kinda theraputic too. Could make garland out of them if you threaded cotton throught the corners carefully http://www.metacafe.com/watch/yt-RF_7ATMaqDE/origami_mini_star/

Chook n Boo Mum
I kept wanting to scroll up or down so her hands were in the frame.... Would you really have enough patience to make them as "packers" ? Mind you after the first few, you could probably do them without looking. Guest
i'd probably put them in a glass bowl or vase, as a decoration.
A chickychickychick-ENN!!
At the end it says: 'The saying goes if you make 900 stars you'll have a lot of luck.' I should think you'd have sore fingers myself! Very sweet though.

A chickychickychick-ENN!!
Nope. Just finished the last of my pyramid-chicken doorstop and paperweight chickens for Christmas gifts. They took forever! Now we go on to Christmas fancy dress costumes. Then some felt and knitted decorations, then... oh it's February already! Chook n Boo Mum
Just looked at the time of you last message Anna, sleep is obviously not on the agenda... ? Am making laundry bags for DS's dorm-mates (8 plus a sister who also boards and my nephew as it gives me somewhere to put all his other presents!). Got to get them finished by tomorrow so he can take them back with him, then I planned to knock out a batch of recycled & reusable bags for DD's class (15) to take all their work home in rather than bringing in carrier bags. What am I like? Can I never keep my mouth shut? Have borrowed an embroidery machine, so the laundry bags are all named, may name or monogram the bags too...... It seemed such a good idea to do a homemade Christmas when it was weeks away!! Was planning to make a few of the chooky doorstops too.... frenchtoast
Some good ideas! I got side tracked and thought this video of folded money notes into little shirts (there's another with slightly different steps using a dollar note) looks good if you've reached last resort and are giving cash to a child. It could be incorporated into a homemade Christmassy gift card with little craft clothes pegs or something. http://www.videojug.com/film/how-to-make-an-origami-shirt
