Angels4
Poor M'lyyn has always had wonky tail feathers, but this am when I went to let the girls out she has lost ALL her tail feathers and her bum was beet red, I wasn't sure if the others had pulled them out, or she had done it herself (too young for a moult) so I pulled her out and upon closer inspection saw her bum was covered with nits. Luckily when I first got the girls I purchased mite and lice spray so I gave he bum a through spray down (as well as the others). Later today (when it warms up) a through clean of the eglu and a dusting of DE for all All the others tail feathers and bums were fine though so I'm wondering why they were concentrated on M'Lynn? Any ideas?
Ain't Nobody Here
Just one of those things, Mark. Don't feel bad . I had the same thing, Molly had lice but the other two didn't . I sprayed them all anyway. What spray have you used? Mine was Johnson's lice and mite spray which has an egg withdrawal period (of 2 days I think!) Angels4
I can't remeber the name right now but, it is supposed to be all natural without any withdrawal. I wish I could get the item you all use across the pond, as it has been tried and tested. Edited to add: It is called Poultry Protector from Care Free Enzymes. Says the active ingredient is .1% Potassium Sorbate Not sure what that is though.
