TAJ
Has anyone looked on the shop or in the newsletter - Omlet have passed on the lower VAT rate in the shop, so the cube & eglu (plus everything else) has reduced in price as of yesterday. For a cube it still shows the old price on the first page, but it is the new lower price when it goes in your basket. ...I can see some shopping coming on! toastedblue
well done omlet excuse my ignorance, but, aren't they legally obligued to reduce the price if it is inclusive of vat ?
TAJ
No they are not obliged to - they could leave the same total price, pay only 15% vat and effectively they would make 2.14% additional profit. Not all shops have past it on - I-tunes is one big company that hasn't - still 79p per song, or £7.99 for an album! So good to Omlet for passing the saving on to its customers.
