I've never ahd the misfortune to have to deal with the media. I guiess it does make sense that if there's no interviews interest may well die down.... but I can't help but think that such an easily-hyped story would cause a huge stir anyway.

It is the one aspect that I feel most uncomfortable with, to be honest.

It is horrible having to deal with the media. I remember coming home from the court case and hugging my Mum and there was a knock on the door. I felt sick when they said it was News of the World.

I am just watching this now (I videoed it) and 'he' seems likeca really really nice person! "Ooops, word censored!"ody deserves to be told they are a freak - not even a 'pregnant man'.

I just want to clarify something, just in case anyone thinks that I think this person is a freak because I don't. What they have done, by inviting the media to cover their story, thereby sensationalising it, to my mind turns it into something of a freak show. That's why I said it reminded me of a Victorian freak show. Those sort of things appall me, pay money to see the bearded lady etc etc.

 

I didn't see the programme so can't really comment on their situation but the thought of watching it makes me feel uncomfortable, for the same reason I can't watch Jeremy Kyle or shows of that ilk, I just think some things should remain private. Not because they should be hidden but because I don't think certain topics should be made into 'entertainment' for the masses.

 

Good luck to them but I hope they don't use it as a vehicle to cash in, that would be very sad, IMO.
