MKI V MKII - Diffrences please

Recommended Posts

The most important difference is that you can only fit two hens into a Mark I, but four into a Mark II. The run is the same size, but the inside of the Eglu isn't.

Mark I Eglus are now around three or four years old, and you should expect to pay considerably less for them. Unfortunately some of the people selling on eBay don't seem to know that they have a Mark I (they look much the same from the outside, except for the small door), and don't realize how important it is to say which version they are selling.

Note that spare roosting bars are no longer available for the Mark I: you won't be able to get plastic ones, and if your bars break, you will have to mend them.

Also the base of the Mark I is not so well protected against rats.

Thank you so much for you quick replies :D There is a MKI on my local Gumtree, but, they are asking £280 for it, a MKII sold on ebay yesterday for £215 (I know because I was hoping to get it and didnt :( ) so I think the MKI is not going to be worth what they are asking however, please let me know if you peeps think its still a fair price.

TIA

I have only been a member for a short while but the amount of help and support I have been getting is truely amazing :D

There is one in London for sale on ebay at the moment. It might go cheaper as it's London. The distance might put some people off. I am bidding on the rablu in London but the seller still hasn't confirmed what type it is so I will pull out when I get outbid if I haven't heard anything.
