4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

I have been given some millet (that you give budgies). Is is ok for my three chickens.

 

I have been googling but only info I can come up with is "Millet is a excellent source of protein and rich in B Vitamins" but nothing about whether this is ok for chickens. So have given up on the internet and thought I would try the best place in the workd for all things chicken....Omlet forum!!

 

They have their growers pellets and would only feed it as a treat and as entertainment.

my chooks ADORE millet! I found this out when cleaning the budgie's cage and brushed some millet onto the ground in front of them.

 

It's also one ingredient in a special bag of 'chicken treats' that we bought from our local country store

I've never fed mine on Millet, but don't see any reason why you shouldn't give it to them. The only one I know that you have to be careful not to give them too much of are Linseeds
