aaronmusgrove123
well as most will proberly know i hatched 2 silkie's and got 1 hen and 1 female then 2 months ago we got 2 little pekin's but they where to young to go out side so we kept them in my 2nd living room (converted garage) where the dogs live they had a farly big crate to live in, but about 1 and a half weeks ago my dad started getiing really bad astma(sp?) so we thought it was the dogs, my dads was going through 3 inhalers a onth from september till last month so we were so close to rehoming the youngest dogs than my dad said is it not the chickens so i had to get them out of the house to try and stop his astma and they whent out with the older silkie's it was going good then the cockerel started to be really horrible and vicious to the pekins so he had to live in the rabbit hutch but it wasnt much of a live for him so we've rehomed him and he is now living at a lovly petting zoo full of geese, hens other males and ducks. so last week we went to see how he was doing and he looked really good he came running across to me and i was stroking him and he reconised me normally he is scared of me but because he hasnt seen me for a week maybe he missed me but he looks really good and all the other chickens are getting on good with a little tiny peck in the morning then thats it so every ones happy im so glad and we dont have to rehome the dogs Sorry its a long post Aaron
Egluntyne
Sorry to hear about your dad's asthma, Aaron. I have it myself and it can be a real pain. Good to hear that the cockerel is getting on well in his new home and that all is harmonious (apart from that peck) with the hens.
