Old Fashioned Orangeade

This is gorgeous. Refreshing, thirst quenching and so easy to make.

Old Fashioned Orangeade

Makes 3 litres

3 lemons

10 oranges

200g caster sugar

500ml water

Bring the rinds of the 3 lemons to the boil in half a litre of water. Dissolve 200g caster sugar in this hot water and leave to cool. Strain and add the juices of the 10 oranges and 3 lemons and then add 2 litres of water. Chill until ready to use.

Delicious!

Don't waste the orange rinds. Remove them with a potato peeler and dry in an airing cupboard or in a low oven then use in pot pourri or add to a jar of caster sugar to make a lovely flavoured sugar for cake baking.
