Faye&Ant
Hi, One of our little bantams has been getting a few ticks around her neck recently which we have been picking off and giving her a dusting of mite powder to the affected areas to help out. We are using Agils Mitex super red mite powder and on the bottle it mentions that it is approved for use in animal feed???? As ive said we have been dusting her with it but am now womdering if it would be better/more effective to mix some in with the food which sounds wrong? Does anyone know if this is ok to do and if so how much? Thanks Faye and Anthony x
Egluntyne
Have googled it and it appears to be diatomacous earth so putting it in the feed won't make any difference to external parasites.
Faye&Ant
Thankyou Egluntine - have decided not to add it to the feed anyway. I have dusted her with it, pick off any I can see (thankfully not many) and have put some into her dustbath. Its only the little one that seems to pick them up, the other 3 are fine
