Berkochicks
Our original plan to give a small area of the garden to "the Girls" hasn't worked. We have decided to give them a 1/4 of it to free range in. Due to the position of the cube and various sheds the only area I can devote to them contains my herbaceous border. Any suggestions what I can plant here which "the Girls" wont eat. It is East facing but is edged by some Hebe which the girls shelter under and Leylandi. I don't just want it to be a boring area of mud. poachedegg
We have quite a few shrubs and the chickens aren't interested in them - though they are quite established: Bay, Laurel,Pyrancantha, Tinus, Acuba, Bamboo, Acers, Photinia, Ceanothus. Hope that helps.
Chicken Licken
Mine won't eat rosemary or mint on the herb front, but are partial to a spot of lavender!

Berkochicks
Thanks everyone, this is really useful. Of course they have free range of the whole garden today because I feel sorry for them. Mind you its easier to pick up the poo when its frozen. Just off to Vaseline their combs, isn't it cold today!
