i'm not sure when my Mallards will lay eggs but i dont know if they will hatch into ducklings do mallards lay normal eggs? we have a drake. but if there are eggs and they dont sit on them, what shall i do, i cant afford omlet incubators and can i build one myself?

I would suggest reading all you can about hatching to see if it is what you really want to do. There are some good books around.

 

Also, take a look at the Practical Poultry forum and read what others have to say about hatching and rearing.

I'd assume that because you've got a drake some of the eggs will be fertile.

 

Do you want more ducks, and do you have the space?

The ducks could go broody themselves and hatch them, or you could incubate.

 

I made an incubator last summer, and hatched some quail chicks out of it. I'd agree with Lesley, that you should buy a book and have a good look on the internet.
