Egluntyne Posted January 12, 2009 Share Posted January 12, 2009 The colour of the egg is a breed thing....and often so is speckling Occasionally it can be caused by spots of blood on the shell, from tiny internal bleeds as the egg passes along the oviduct, and will be peculiar to that hen.
