How Quickly Does Albendazole Work?

Hi All, Took delivery of my new eglu today

 

One slight concern though. At the back where the poo tray slides in and meets the rest of the eglu, the gap between the two feels really large.

 

I can put my hand into the gap as far as my knuckles and it seems to me this would let rain / cold in and a rodent may squeeze through ??

 

If I lift up the poo tray so it meets the eglu this kind of looks like how it should be but it just drops back down when I let go.

 

Can anyone help and tell me if they have similar on their eglu ?

I am sure mine is like yours - the gaps are for ventilation?

I have just been out to look at mine

 

I can stick my hand in the gap, just about. It's a gap about the width of my index finger and I think my hand will be smaller than yours!

 

So yes I think the gap looks a little big but there are meant to be a certain amount of ventilation gaps, chook houses need this because of the copious amounts of poo that can build up overnight

 

If you're worried I would speak to Omlet they are normally very good if you have a problem. It could be that the tray's a little warped and you just need a new one?

 

There was a post on here about a Pekin Bantam being attacked whilst she was inside the Eglu, I think it was a stoat or something. I can't find the post sorry - but it's very very rare, usually chickens are very safe inside an Elgu.

Thanks all, I'm in touch with omlet, great response so far so will let you know how I get on. Just wanted to canvas opinion first. Still feels a little too ventilated but we'll see.

Sooo pleased you asked as i was too. I was thinking that it is a draft as wind can blow through.,and thought ventilation essential draft not good?

Omlet were very helpful, have looked at the picture and have confirmed this is how it should be.

 

Build at the weekend and then need to get me some chickens !!
