Bumper bits

Recommended Posts

You can get bumper bits from Wernlas:

http://www.wernlas.co.uk/

Send them stamps (10p each bumper bit) plus an SAE.

I suggest buying ten, so you can repay the favour that was done by a forum member to you to the next desperate person. Probably best to go up a stage in postage on the SAE (and remember the thickness rules for C5 envelopes).

Someone is now selling them on eBay in sets of three:

It isn't me. This person appears to have helped themselves to my photograph of a bumper bit on the Omlet forum, which I think is an enormous cheek!

It's tempting to set up a Bumper bit shop: I don't like the idea of people who are all desperate for a solution to pecking problems having to bid against each other.

A lot of that persons item titles seem to include the word Eglu so they appear when Eglu is entered as a search term too - I didn't think that was allowed? :?

If anyone can tell me where I can get bumper bits wholesale, I am willing to set up an eBay shop with fair prices and only a tiny profit.

There's a niche market here: I could make up to £10 a year!

I accidentally ordered over a hundred last year.

I got them from **here**. I got rid of them in no time at all as Omleteers contacted me and I sent them a few in exchange for small donations to the BHWT.

Your PM box will be full in no time at all.

A lot of trouble for £10!

If you type 'Eglu' into ebay's search thingy, you will be astonished at the rubbish people sell by keyword spamming the word.

Thanks, Egluntine.

The site only mention pheasants and partridges:

Would the standard hen size be 35mm? I don't know what dimension this refers to.

I am going to start off small and just buy 100. Once I have a business going in the standard size, then I can branch out and sell other sizes too.

I think that people often need them urgently and would like to be able to pay quickly on an eBay site with "Buy It Now" and get them next day.

Given that there are PayPal costs to pay, I was thinking about 5 for £1 plus postage. But I can't start until I have bought some stock!

By the way, people can pay you by Paypal without you needing to go on Ebay - all they would need would be your email address if you have a Paypal account already set up. So once people here know you have got them, they could just pm you with an order and you could give them your email address to pay.

Thanks to everyone for their help. I have ordered a hundred 25mm bumper (aka bumpa) bits. With the VAT and postage, it comes to just over £10, which shows that Sue at Wernlas is providing a wonderful service only charging 10p each. (The postage comes down a little, however, if you order two hundred.)

I will sell them five at a time on eBay and then decide if I want to go on. If they don't sell, I am sure I can eventually get rid of them via this forum, where one of the most frequently asked questions is, "Where can I get bumper bits?"
