My OH keeps mentioning them as they are the oldest UK chicken and have 5 toes, they also lay white eggs, but what I have read varies from 120 - 200 eggs a year, some saying they lay spring & summer only. Depending whos website you read they are shown as 'endangered' or 'rare'. Anyone got one and can tell me a bit more about their character? I shall be wary of that then - everything I have seen or read says they have white eggs - if some breeders are producing some that are not true I will have to ensure I buy from a white egg breeder - Thanks Eglutine. I have read loads about them and seen them 3 times now, I just do not know anyone who has kept them as pets - so please let me know if any of you have any experience with them.
