Used Omlet outdoor rabbit run Width 2.2m Height 2.05m Length 3.1m vgc.

Anyone got one of these? My OH keeps mentioning them as they are the oldest UK chicken and have 5 toes, they also lay white eggs, but what I have read varies from 120 - 200 eggs a year, some saying they lay spring & summer only. Depending whos website you read they are shown as 'endangered' or 'rare'.

 

Anyone got one and can tell me a bit more about their character? We saw some at the National Poultry show and at the Domestic Fowl Trust.

When I helped out on the Omlet stand at the RHS Show at Tatton Park last summer, we were loaned some Silver Grey Dorkings.

 

They were lovely to look at, very placid....but their eggs were bog standard beige.

I shall be wary of that then - everything I have seen or read says they have white eggs - if some breeders are producing some that are not true I will have to ensure I buy from a white egg breeder - Thanks Eglutine.

 

I have read loads about them and seen them 3 times now, I just do not know anyone who has kept them as pets - so please let me know if any of you have any experience with them.
