This may sound a really silly question, but my chickens have had quite a bit of garlic recently, I am now cooking some in the oven and can smell garlic!

Can eggs taste different depending on what they have been eating?

I would be very interested on what people think.

I think they can certainly be tainted if you over do the garlic or give them onions to eat.

Could I take advantage of the tainted egg? Perhaps I could direct the girls towards the herb bed, let them nibble away and use the eggs for "omelette aux fine herbes"? [Thinks] Would they eat a truffle??

Think they would have to eat quite a lot! As for trufles - delia recommends you pop a truffle and 2 eggs in an airtight box, put in the fridge for a few days and they will absorb the flavour of the truffle!
