buffie
Well since 7am I have been fighting with the PC. I have 2 odd things identified but can't rid myself of them pmsngr.exe plus a flashing yellow triangle and isamonitor.exe, both appeared to be installed at 12.35 . I am being bombarded with warnings of trojans and all sorts yet I have done windows defender (thanks grd), virus scan adaware and spybot I know it's fake but am also getting some pop ups and the pc has been slower for some time Any ideas? The Dogmother
Have you tried going to your control panel (start menu\settings) and clicking on add/remove programs. You can use this function to uninstall unwanted programs. Do you have any antivirus? I've got Norton at home and it's fab! I'll get Graham to read this too Buff CX
buffie
It's not in my progs Clare I have found them unsigned in the software explorer and they can't be disabled or removed they come right back BBx
The Dogmother
Oh bother! I can't tell you what to do next without seeing your PC, but Graham will probably be back from lunch soon and I have emailed him to look at this thread. Have you tried googling about those files? This should give you some info and might even find you a patch to kill them.
Guest
This is a particularly tough one to get rid off. Buff, did you say you've already tried Ad-Aware? http://www.lavasoft.com/software/adaware/ If you have it installed, can you update the definitions using webupdate and then re-try it? buffie
no the googles are set up to trick you as these appear to be harmless but make you give details to fake security companys or download something possiblt harmful. BBx

The Dogmother
Spybot is good Buff; I run it at work and at home. Together with Adaware and the new Microsoft defender (beta version). They keep us bug free
