Ygerna
I've noticed that a couple of my girls are eating feathers. I have read a few posts where others have experienced this too, but what I do not understand is why they do it? Is it a deficiency with their diet? Can I supplement it somehow bearing in mind I use layers pellets, garlic powder, poultry spice as well as feeding them afternoon treats on top of which they are allowed to free range for 4 days out of 7, for about 6 hours so can help themselves to any bugs they find, grass and of course my plants and shrubs. Can anyone offer a reason? Even as I type this, I am watching one of the girls getting 'plucked' to provide a feathery snack!
