They are gorgeous, Is that an electric hen type brooder i see at the side ? how do you find that?

So far so good. I got it from Regency Poultry after thinking about what heat source to use for weeks and weeks. It suits me fine at the moment because the chicks are in my bedroom and I didn't fancy a light on 24/7. I keep checking on them and the chicks are nice and toasty under it. I like the way it kind of mimics natural behaviour, in that they crawl under it to keep warm just as they would with their mum.

 

Once they outgrow the rat cage they're in at the moment (or when my OH's patience runs out!) they'll be moving to my spare coop & run which we're putting in the garage. I have got an infra red lamp and I might use that in the garage. Actually will probably still use the electric hen thingy too. I really can't decide what to use out there
