Old Speckled Hen
Sorry showing my age. It's a line from Don McLean's American Pie. The day the music died .... the day Buddy Holly was killed. I was just musing at how it didn't seem 50 years. Not quite yesterday but then not 50 years!!! Old Speckled Hen
I was eight and my father played Buddy Holly all the time on an old radiogram the size of a sideboard. If I was good I was allowed to lower the stylus on to the disc very very slowly.

Chillicat
Happens to be OH's FAVOURITE song And OH will be 50 in January next year..............and my 40th this June. I asked OH's mother the same question a couple of years ago and her response was "Well, everyone justs expects things to happen immediately...........like shops just weren't open on a Sunday, so you just had to wait until Monday to get what you wanted " She has a point..........like if you feel the need for something, right now.......like more chickens.......WHY oh WHY doesn't someone come round with a mobile van (like the libraries and veg people, remember them?) EVERY Sunday morning so we can just choose and be done with it right away, when the mood takes us? ....I guess the levy was dry.......so I'm gonna go off and drink my whisky and rye..........
