My 2 Silver Appleyards had their first introduction to snow today - I went to let them out as usual, and usually, they come bounding out of thier house at full speed, straight up the garden (as soon as I'm out the way), and tuck into some food, and have a drink.

This morning though - we had 2 inches of snow. They got halfway across the ramp from their house to the floor, saw that the ground was no longer brown and green, and stopped. They then promptly turned around, went back into their house, and looked out the door, quacking at the snow, trying to scare it away.

It took them a good 10 minutes before they plucked up the courage to come and stand in it. They didn't seem very keen. I thought they'd love it - I also thought they would eat large quantities of it. Turns out I was wrong!

They then made their way to our path, which we had gritted the night before, and they waddled up the path, around the outside of the garden, around to their food & water.

Then back around the garden, and down the path, before parking themselves back in their house. :wall:

I had to go to work then, so I am hoping they plucked up the courage to have a "paddle" in the snow... admittedly it did completely cover their legs - bless them!
