henny penny
Hi made this last night from my slow cooker book- it was lovely. However I cooked mine in the oven as I had started too late to cook in the slow cooker. Also I have managed to crack my slow cooker pot so am going out today to get a new one! Spicey pork chops with sweet potato 4 pork chops 1 Onion chopped 2 garlic cloves crushed and chopped 2 tab flour 450ml chicken stock 400g can chopped tomatoes 1/2 tsp ground allspice 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon 1 large chilli chopped (I used chilli powder) optional 1 cooking apple (250g) cored peeled and diced 2 large sweet potatoes (700g) peeled and cubed seasoning Lightly brown the chops in a frying pan and transfer to plate. Lightly brown the onion then add the garlic , the flour and stir in the spices stock and tomatoes ( and chilli if using) season and bring to the boil. Place the pork chops in the slow cooker and add the apple and sweet potato. pour over the sauce and cook on high for 7-8hrs. It was really tasty and i will definitely be cooking it again. Ps there is a note at the bottom of the recipe to say there may be alot of sauce at the end but that its important that the potatoes cooked evenly Having cooked mine in the oven- there was plenty of normal thickened stew sauce so I cannt comment yet on the success in a slow cooker but will definitely cook again

henny penny
Glad you want tp try this- let me know how it goes in the slow cooker. I just bought a new slow cooker which seems to be cooking hotter than my previous one. So will have to get used to it. I cooked jamie olivers tikka masala last night in it- although i had to use a pataks balti sauce as i had run out of tikka masala! but it was good!
