Tiggy
which crops need which? I use all the chicken poo around my rhubarb and soft fruit, what else needs it and where do I use lime?
chickencam
Potatoes and beans love manure, brassicas, turnips, swede love lime and it helps to keep club root at bay. For other things just use the manure in the autumn and let it break down in the soil over the winter. The only things that don't like to be planted on ground that has been manured the same year are carrots and parsnips, the roots tend to fork if the ground is too rich. Matthew
Never lime and manure at the exact same time... do them say 4-6 weeks apart
