mostin
All the omleteers who have tasted these so far have loved them, so here is the recipe. 7oz / 200gms butter 10oz / 284gms plain flour 3 1/2oz / 100gms caster sugar 2 tbs. cocoa powder few drops vanilla essense I do all this in the food processor as it's quite hard work to mix the dough by hand. Rub the butter into the flour. Divide this mixture into 2. With the half left in the food processor add half the sugar and the vanilla essence. Mix into a ball of dough. Remove that ball from the processor. Add the other half of the rubbed in butter and flour, the rest of the sugar, and the cocoa powder. Mix into a ball of dough and remove from processor. Roll each of these balls of dough out on two squares of greaseproof paper to give two oblongs of biscuit dough about 10' by 8'. Now the tricky part . Place one oblong on top of the other and roll up like you would a swiss roll. Place in the fridge for half an hour while you preheat the oven. Cut the biscuit dough sausage into 30 slices and cook on a baking tray for about 10 mins at 190 degrees C / gas mark 5. The uncooked dough sausage can be wrapped in foil and kept in the fridge for about a week until you are ready to use it.

Sunshine
Just made some of these and they taste yummy! They look really cool as well. I had to do it by hand though because we don't have a food processor and it was fine to mix up and didn't take as long as i expected. However i have realised that i cannot roll stuff into rectangles, mine both ended up being ovals so i had to re-roll the end parts. Thanks for the recipe mostin, Emma
