The 3 D's
Hi, my Dad went to a house the other day and they had 8 ex battery hens. The man said to my Dad that he gives his chickens Curry powder mixed with poridge oats and those kind of things. He said that the chickens dont taste spicy things and said that it clears their insides out. Is this true? I dont want to give it to them and see fire coming out of their beaks. Matt. Ain't Nobody Here
That's a new one on me . Can't imagine it would do them a lot of good . I'm going to stick to the garlic powder, I think . (They already do curry poos, imagine what they'd do if they ate curry powder .)
Egluntyne
Never heard a recommendation for curry powder before, but I have read that chickens don't have much sense of taste. I once put a whole jar (past its sell by date) of lazy chilli under one of the Eglus to teach the rat a lesson, the forgot about it, and when I moved the Eglu for cleaning purposes, the hens hoovered up the chilli lie no body's business, so maybe it is true. moochoo
A lot of the spices in poultry spice are in curries so that doesn't surprise me at all.

Did you end up with devilled eggs Egluntine?
