tara Posted February 15, 2009 Share Posted February 15, 2009 Ive got a walk in runs some with chooks and some with ducks and chooks.We have that plastic stuff on top to give them shelter but the water still gets through so today we tryed changing one of them.But the mud in our garden is so bad that we had no were to work with the wood so failed and gave up Ive looked at other walk in runs on the fourm and they seem to have flat roofs as well.Dose any body else have this problem as im fed up with seeing my animals getting wet. Cooks Posted February 15, 2009 Share Posted February 15, 2009 how have you secured your plastic sheets? as if it is not secured using the correct fixings unfortunately it will leak. You need to use the little plastic fixings that allow the cream to go through them and then have a cap to water seal them shut. I have the same corrugated roofing, however mine it metal which I find perfect and I have never had a problem with it, I have added guttering as well which is great! tara Posted February 15, 2009 Author Share Posted February 15, 2009 We have used the plastic clips but it leaks and my chooks and ducks hate it.It drips in certain places.My hubby wants to put a wooden roof up and felt it but as the in corners it will make the runs dark.So we need to get it right.
