munchkin
Hi Sorry if this has been answered else where but i can't seem to find it. I am worried that Barbara - gingernut ranger is very thin compared to my bluebelle. When I pick her up i can feel her very sharp breast bone. They were wormed with flubenvet in October. They share a cat bowl of layers pellets which are made into porridge and also their grub has regular layers pellets in, a cabbage is hung every day for them to peck at and they are also having a small amount of spaghetti along with half a cup of corn daily. The Bluebelle is bigger and when i pick her up i cannot feel her breast bone. They are laying about 5 eggs each per week. Barbara seems very perky and I cannot see signs of red mite etc. Any advice would be welcome Thanks
Redwing
I can feel the breast bones of all my girls, laying hens do not seem to carry too much weight so this could be normal, I expect someone will be along with some better advice though
Plum
Mine don't have much each side of their breastbone which is quite prominent but they have been wormed. I think you need to worry if it is something new and they feel lighter when you pick them up. Perhaps she is due for worming anyway.
Ain't Nobody Here
Mine all feel quite bony at the front too. I agree, unless you've noticed a marked decline in her condition, it's probably just the way she's made .
