ted
This may sound daft but is regular chicken grit ok for bantams or do they need something finer/smaller??
Daphne
mine have normal and some of them are quite small bantams - I've had any problems but then I've never thought about it to be honest!
Guest
I just give mine oyster shell as it's smaller and finer.
TAJ
I just give mine oyster shell as it's smaller and finer. Oyster shell is only for calcium, not for grinding food - mixed grit provides for both needs. They do make chick and growers sized mixed grit, so if in doubt use that for bantams. I must admit for grower I have just used the finer stuff at the bottom of the bag and not purchased it specifically. Tracy

Guest
Is the grit the type that budgies have the same for the chickens/bantams...... Have been wondering the same too indie
Christian
Budgie grit is finer than chicken grit. I have found the best grit for chickens is flint grit as it is sharper. If they free range on stony soil, I wouldn't worry too much. Mine pick up stones from the garden all the time.
