I have been far more laid-back (excuse the pun) with my second cohort of chickens which arrived on 23rd Jan, but just had to share my excitement that Rue crouched just now when I went into the garden. Hopefully eggs coming soon then!

How lovely...........my buff sussex started crouching a week ago and she laid her first egg yesterday..........so definitely within a week or two.

Came back from fairly tedious meeting in town to find... Rue's first egg, - 6 days after I noticed her crouch!

i got that excited when after 6 months after i got my hens i found a tiny egg on the bottom of the cage
