Frozen Yoghurt

Recommended Posts

I know this is really obvious but just in case you have dug your ice cream maker out and forgotten....

Last night I chucked a largish tub of yeovalley strawberry yoghurt in my icecream maker and after only minutes it had frozen.

My husband and I had half each and really enjoyed it - very refreshing.

I actually dont like yoghurt but feel its better for me than ice cream and should eat it and really enjoyed it frozen.

Next time I am going to add some honey or agave to it to sweeten it up.

I spooned some strawberry yoghurt into ice lolly moulds and froze it. It worked beautifully, they had a few ice crystals in (I assume with the ice cream maker you don't get that) but they were very nice :D

I make this in the same way as Lesley with a stick blender and usually sweeten it with ripe bananas which can be frozen too. If the bananas are frozen it comes out very thick if they are room temperature it makes a thick smoothie.

We freeze quite a bit of soft fruit from our allotment each year and some of it gets used this way.
