Kenilchick
I have had my four lovely chickens for 4 weeks now and thought I should probably worm them. I bought some Verm-X pellets and have been mixing it with a small amount of porridge oats and warm water for the last 4 mornings. Wasn't sure if this was the right thing to do but they certainly wolf it down. Thing is - I'm just not sure what I should be looking for to know if its done the job. Also, does it kill the worms? If it doesn't isn't it possible they might eat them again. Yuk!
Hen Watch
Hopefully you won't see anything. I have personally never used Verm-X so I can't comment on it. I use Flubenvet. I'd had 10 months before I first thought of worming them and I did see dead worms after in their poo but I'd left it a bit late and that was probably why. But since then, with each worming session I've never seen any others. And I ensure that I worm them routinely every 3/4 months to keep it that way.
