mrshalobaby
Can anyone shed any light on this weird poo that one of my girls is producing today? I assumed it was blood, but it seems the wrong shade of red and it's an odd consistancy, like jelly. She is very under the weather, not eating, hasn't laid for a while, and doesn't have a lot of energy. I have separated her from the other 3 so she can have a bit of peace while I work out what to do. I've put some soft food in for her but it hasn't been touched yet.
Egluntyne
Hmmm. I'm wondering if she has got coccidosis. I would urge you to take her to the vet asap. Even if I am wrong, she sounds poorly and might have some other infection. You have done the right thing in separating her. Keep her warm and try to get her to drink, syringing water into her beak if necessary.
mrshalobaby
Thanks! She seems a bit better this morning, she is eating her weetabix off the end of my stirring stick. Not seen her drink yet, so I need to get out with the syringe. No poo today yet although I am not surprised as she didn't eat yesterday. Plum
Poor old thing, hope she picks up with treatment.
mrshalobaby
Woohoo! Several poos eventually, with no red bits in them She was much perkier after eating (very mushy food!) better this afternoon, and went off to bed this evening with her crop a bit fuller than it was last night. Let hope she is on the mend and there was nothing too seriously wrong.
Egluntyne
That sounds promising.
