Single hen

Went to collect eggs this morning and found one in the nest box, one resting on the perch slats and one in the run 1/4 of the way from the eglu and 3/4 way from the run door. .

Too far from the eglu to put my hand through eglu door and too far from run door to reach. Ended up getting broom from house, kneeling down on wet grass and rolling the egg , with brush end of broom, over the bark in the run until i could reach it.

 

I swear i could hear the girls laughing as they stood behind me and watched

I'm lucky i have never had an egg laid out of my coop/ now cube but i have had some laid on the roosting bars and then cracked
