A chickychickychick-ENN!!
United Notions, the parent company of Moda which supposedly make this fabric sent me a promotional PDF for it from when it was launched and suggested shopping on these sites to track it down: http://www.missingfabrics.com http://www.fabrics.net http://www.fabshophop.net http://www.fabricmatcher.com I had actually asked them if it had been discontinued, which they didn't tell me... Chook n Boo Mum
What a bunch of sleuths you are, fantastic, I'll go & have a furtle once my charges have gone home & left me in peace (as opposed to in pieces, which is what I will be if they start arguing!!) Minnie the Moocher
I'm going to set PC Plum a really hard challenge one of these days! I just have to think of something v. obscure, then mention I can't find it on here!
A chickychickychick-ENN!!
Yes I know what you mean Minnie. I, for instance, have been scouring my local high street for a Shire Horse-sized PIED UNICORN so it can help me walk the dog and carry my shopping. Since Woolworths closed down, I can't think of ANYWHERE I MIGHT FIND ONE...
Minnie the Moocher
Well I need a PHOENIX FEATHER for my Easter bonnet I'm having a devil of a job finding one.

Plum
Is this supposed to be a serious section on the forum. I laugh more in this section than anywhere.
Minnie the Moocher
Yes, people, be sensible please. Plummy is trying to think where she's seen those pied unicorns and phoenix feathers.
Chook n Boo Mum
Found it but can't find the colour in this country yet. Its called Recess by Moda http://www.beyond-fabrics.co.uk/tape-measure-red-multi---weeplay---moda-52-p.asp Well I've ordered so and in different colourways too! Just got to decide what else I can put with it & what to make with it! Thanks Plum, good luck with the unicorns & phoenix feathers! DS would love a unicorn, pied or otherwise for her birthday....you've got til November for that one!! Sha x
Minnie the Moocher
I have ordered it too in the multi and blue colourways. And I might also have ordered some spotty fabric while I was about it.
Chook n Boo Mum
My order is being processed.......! Sha x
Chook n Boo Mum
My order is being processed.......! Sha x Well I thought it was, until I got an email today to say they can't complete my order as he "can't process my payment". I'd have thought that had there been a problem with my card, it would have shown up at the payment part of the order wouldn't it? Also doesn't the payment page automatically charge the card in question, rather than the website holder having to do the transaction him/herself manually? I emailed back to say contact me on my number as posted on my order....I'll see what happens.....BTW there is no record of a pending transaction with my bank, so it could be totally legitimate! Minnie the Moocher
Wild Mum it could be something very simple. I have processed credit card payments via a web site, and something as simple as a house having a name rather than a number (you have to enter the house no.) or not having a postcode (you need the numerical elements) can mean the payment is rejected. Don't take it personally - it's a security measure to protect you from having your card used fraudulently. Also, they are not allowed to 'hang on' to your card details by law to try at a later date. I would give them a buzz if you still want the goods. Hope this puts you at ease.
Chook n Boo Mum
Previously, on another site, I had entered the wrong issue date & had to get the bank to talk me through the whole reasoning for the cancelled transaction as they had everything at their fingertips literally seconds after it was cancelled. This one they have had no record of either as an accepted nor pending transaction 2 days later, so I can only assume it is legit, although I'm surprised it took him 2 days to tell me, and didn't ring me, as I know I entered my mobile number on the order form, it wouldn't let me continue without it! He said, in his email, he'd contact me tomorrow, although being as it's Good Friday, maybe he won't. I just find it strange that he was apparently doing the transaction manually, when everything is sooooo automated these days! I'll stop fretting for now & deal with it next week if he hasn't got back to me by then. Thanks for your message Minnie, I feel a bit better about it now! Minnie the Moocher
Well I hope you get it sorted and the fabric you ordered is on its way soon. What are you going to make with it?
Chook n Boo Mum
Not decided yet, it's the tape measure stuff, in various colours, I can't even remember which ones I settled for in the end! How much did you order in each of the colours you went for? I only ordered 1/2 a yard (2 of their measures) of each one, as I think DH will have a fit that I ordered even that much!! I was very tempted by the Daisy (?) print, but resisted...! What are you planning? DH bought me "Sew many Bags, Sew Little Time" the other day so I can use up all the many bits & bobs of fabric we have in the house & make birthday/Christmas pressies for everyone...then I go & buy more fabric!! Will probably use some of it on one of these, and maybe another Chickummyjig too! DS (12yo!) made one of them today without legs & is now fast asleep with it snuggled in his arms - aaah, might just sneak a piccy & post it if I dare! Today I ordered some silk fabric & Indian type printed cotton to make a tshirt/vest top type of dress to replace the one I've ripped to shreds! - can't wait for that to arrive too! That wasn't an easy transaction either...I think I'm going to stop buying fabric online! Sha x
Minnie the Moocher
I bought all single fat quarters: the tape measure in multi and blue, and the dotty fabric which my daughter will love as it's the fabric used by Lauren Child to make Lola's dress. I might do a Lola appliqued top for her if I can find a decent plain long sleeved T-shirt. I have no idea what to do with the tape measure quarters! And I don't need any more fabric either... Chook n Boo Mum
All sorted - it would appear their system can't cope with Maestro cards, so they've cancelled my first order, I have re-placed the same order which is cut and waiting for my payment, which is now winging it's way to them via DH's Paypal account!! Best bit, he had rung my mobile yesterday, which had at some point been set to silent, so I didn't hear it!!!!!! Ooooops, I did apologise.... I had wondered why it had been so quiet all day, I usually get a text or two a day at least!! Sha x
