Dressed to Kill

Recommended Posts

Went to the Henry Viii exhibition at the Tower of London yesterday.

Worth visiting.

Nowhere near as spellbinding as the Terracotta Warriors, but very interesting all the same. I'd never been to the Tower before, so was interested to see it.

I love doing the London Touristy things, and as the weather was so lovely, it made it rather a special day out.

Would have been cheaper to go to Torremelinos for a fortnight though.

We've just had a long weekend in Paris and noticed a difference in the prices over there for tourists.

After walking for miles to take in the sights we stopped off for a beer and were shocked to find out that due to our falling exchange rate against the euro the bill for 2 average glasses worked out at £17

Not sure if we were just paying Paris prices or if the rest of Europe is getting rather expensive.

Regards,

Christine

I went to the Tower of London just over a year ago and really enjoyed it. we got buyone get one free on our tickets which helped a great deal.

It was amusing to see just how many people tittered at a certain bit of Henry VIII's armour!!:lol:

Gosh Egluntine, you could have met me for lunch if I'd known! I love the Tower, although naturally as I live and work in London, I hardly ever go to any of the tourist places. Took my nieces there a few years ago when they were having a week's holiday with me, and it was great, they had improved the displays and made it much more interesting than when I went on school trips.

I'm shocked at the price you paid for two beers in Paris, Christine - were you on the Champs Elysees or something? That sounds mega-expensive, surely that wasn't just the exchange rate.

Aaah yes, his codpiece is rather ummmm large?

I live in London but never do touristy things, however I found myself taking some American visiting friends to the Tower a couple of years ago where somebody nicked my purse out of my bag  Off with their head!!!
