tara
Our ex battery girl died on saturday leaving behind henrietta her battery girl mate they lived with the 6 ducks. They got on so well.I had been free ranging the battery girl over the last 2 nights with my other 6 hens but as always there was bulling.Over the last couple of days l put henrietta in with the other hens but she was getting bullied they have a big run but this evening l decided henrietta should live were she wants and she chooses the ducks. But she sleeps alone and l feel so sorry for her.I also got another hen that has a red bottom very sore and because l have a eglu with run spere l have put her in there.I will free range her with her pals through the day but l cant leave her to carry on being sore.I have tryed creams and sprays and nose rings but no change.I feel guilty about henrietta being the only chook in the duck run and honey living alone untill her feathers have grown back. Please give me you opinion as my other half is fed up with chicken chicken chicken chat Edited April 13, 2009 by Guest
Plum
Poor you they are giving you a hard time. Better sleeping alone than getting picked on I suppose but one of mine chooses to sleep alone from the other two so I don't suppose it matters as long as they have company in day and can talk to the ducks. Will the two move together in the end? She's got good taste I love ducks.

Guest
If she is happy with the ducks would worry too much...my ducks were reared by a hen..as long as she is feeding etc obviously she is fine... good luck
