On a serious not what about those cheap door alarms? the sort that squeal when opened, might take a bit of working out.

Like the idea of cage around the Eglu, got half an Idea seen a photo of that somewhere?

 

 

That's a good idea - we had one for the front door when small boy kept letting himself out - makes a REALLY loud noise when activated! Failing that I could send you a picture of Delilah to put up on a sign - she looks pretty big and mean, or if you're going for it with animals, geese. Not many intruders would get past a pair of geese!

Geese are fantastic guard dogs. Not only do they make a racket, but they are also quite scary when they stick their necks out & flap their wings & run

 

They make much more mess of the grass than the hens, unless you have an orchard or similar big space to keep them in.

There are geese in the neighbour's orchard behind my parents garden, & it puts into context the worry that we all have about our girls making too much noise

I can't be much help with the eglu door, but you have my sympathy regarding the youths.

We had some in our garden the other day.

They tried to break into next door's house form an upstairs window via her low extention roof.

Lucky for her she was in, but she did get some abuse from them on leaving.

No help from the police either when they came TWO DAYS later!

Any way i wonder if geese would help they are supposed to be very noisy and vicious.

I had two male geese and the noise...I gave them back to the chap that sold them to me after a year..they were funny but I didnt find them particularly scary hissy things..but oh v noisey..v smart and they always knew if mr fox was around too..hard to sneak up on them...if u can have those thats an option!! I just hated the noise

Now I like the noise geese make, but I guess that's because I grew up with them, they were/are always at the bottom of my parents garden fence and I became immune to the noise.
