How Quickly Does Albendazole Work?

Hi guys,

 

I know in previous posts people have asked/ suggested the best things to clean the eglu with but I was wondering if Dettol disinfectant would be ok? I currently use washing up liquid but feel i need something with a bit more oumph! But obviously don't want to harm my girlies. They have settled in brilliantly! I can't believe I have not always had chicken... Love them!

Anything that turns the water white should be avoided apparently, so I wouldn't use it.

 

I use Ecover washing up liquid and water. I never bother with anything stronger.

Thanks, I thought I had better check as I seem to remember hearing something like that! Just an extra squirt of washing up liquid will do the job I think!

If you want something stronger how about a little laundry liquid or one of the clear kitchen sprays?

 

I use washing up liquid and very very hot water which seems to do the trick

 

Always ensure you rinse well

I have used milton in the past. When I do use things like this I ensure everything is completely dry before putting it back together.

Milton is a good idea, I know it is quite mild so will probably do the trick and add the oumph I need!

We sometimes use a pet disinfectant from the vets, it says it's for birds and I use a similar one for the guinea pigs, you just keep them away from it til it's dry. Or washing up liquid is fine.

Ah just remembered It's called Keep it Clean! comes in nice scents like, lemon, coconut etc

I add a few drops of tea tree oil to the water...smells nice too !

I use ecover most of the time but every so often I use poultry shield for a really good disinfect. Especially since I still have wooden bars in my cube and I don't want red mite .

I've been using dettol (I have a wooden house, though) twice a month for nearly a year. I also use it to disinfect the slabs in the run. No ill affects so far

I use Dettol along with a splash of washing up liquid and white vinegar after it was discussed on this board a while back as being a good cure/deterrent for red mite.
