craftyhunnypie Posted April 28, 2009 Share Posted April 28, 2009 A had a gent call round my house last night whilst I was out - he spoke with hubby. He has a broody & wanted some fertile eggs to put under her, as he no longer has a cockerel. His got taken by the fox. He actually wants a cockerel to hatch! Anyway hubby gave him 6 mixed from the big girls & Boon the partridge cochin, but he also wanted some frizzle / pekin eggs. Hubby wouldn't let these go as he wasn't sure if the ones on the shelf were spoken for already. Anyway, this gent ' Olly' literally only lives round the corner from us, so I took him 6 bantam eggs round today. We are sorting out with the chicks when they hatch - so we both get some chickies! It will be interesting to see what hatches as he has eggs from.. Gold laced Wyandotte Gold legbar Cuckoo Maran 2 Amber star Black rock .......................all been trod by Boon the Partridge Cochin cockerel. The other 6 are from Spongebob, the red frizzle cockerel & my 3 lavender pekin ladies. They are definitely fertile! So it's exciting times & we now have a new chicken friend nearby & a potential chicken sitter if my normal one is ever unable!
