Scotty
Hi All, Just a quickie... I notice that I have a hen that is limping, I've checked her feet out to make sure that she hasn't anything stuck in. Concerned that the others may start to see a weak link in the group and attackher. What would anyone suggest for a limp? scotty
Ain't Nobody Here
I've heard of other hens that suddenly limp without any visible injury. I think they can just pull or twist something by landing awkwardly but usually recover quite quickly. The others shouldn't be too bothered unless there is obvious blood. Scotty
Oh thank heavens! - thanks for coming back so quickly... She is my scraggy little hen that we all try and protect. As I say no obvious signs and NO blood. Hopefully this warm weather will let her sunbath a little and rest her little body
Egluntyne
I always give a bit of extra calcium if there is a limping hen It helps with sprains and any bone damage. They often hurt themselves when launching themselves off the top of the Eglu. Arnica pillules 30c given 2 or 3 times a day will help with any bruising. Hangman
We have a Cream Limpbar, sorry, Legbar which hops around the garden. It's an absolute nut, so it's probably got it caught somewhere. No idea what the problem is, though.
Surrey Hen
My Annabel suddenly began to limp a few weeks ago with no apparent reason. I followed the extra calcium advice and she gradually got better over about 10 days. Surrey Hen
