Mrs AVP
I wonder if anyone is poss able to help as our henas layed a big egg on thurs and hasn't bee able to lay another since then. Im worried about her being egg bound and I don't want to poke about as she maybe sore, is this normal when a big egg has been laid? Budgies
Difficult to tell. Can you get hold of her? Check her undercarriage and see if you can feel anything - you'll be able to tell if an egg is on its way. Also check for any feeling of fluid. She's probably just taking a well-earned break, but if she isn't acting normally, or is seemingly going to lay an egg but doesn't lay anything, it's worth checking out. Budgies
She may have a soft shelled egg (although I think that's fairly unlikely) or perhaps it's another big egg and she's having trouble passing it. Can you put her on a hot water bottle wrapped in a towel in a box perhaps? That might help to relax her muscles and the egg might come. If she has got one stuck she might need your help. I'm sure other people will be along to offer advice soon.
